Evolution is an intrinsic part of life. If we look at the rate of our DNA’s evolution, we can see that human evolution hasn’t stopped – it may even be happening faster than before. As in humans, the mutation and evolution of cannabis is progressing just as rapidly.
Let’s think about the fact that there are over 7 billion people living on earth. Although we are a single species, every human is uniquely and differently “arranged” in terms of physical appearance, behavioural patterns and mental abilities. Just as humans can be incredibly diverse in the way we look and think as individuals, cannabis is no different. The behaviour of every cannabis plant on the planet depends on its detailed genes that are found on microscopic structures called chromosomes. This amazing species of nature has a diploid genome with each plant cell nucleus having nine autosomes, and a pair of sex chromosomes – X and a Y just like humans.
